The Qapu Community is the hometown of Taiwan makino bamboo. From bamboo cutting to bamboo art and culture, the bamboo association revitalizes the tribal economy and industry and produces the opportunities for the indigenous youths to work at their hometown. The association is dedicated to preserving and passing on the bamboo weaving culture. Besides the tableware production, the Atayal patterns and traditional makino bamboo are also combined with contemporary aesthetics to design the fashion accessories well received by young people. At the tribe, travelers will not only realize that makino bamboo is a very important economic source for the Atayal people but also learn gratitude and contentment from the tribal wisdom.

The Qapu Community is located at Yishan Village, Fuxing District, Taoyuan City. Neighbor to Xiao Wulai Scenic Area, Skywalk, Yixing Suspension Bridge, and the Luofu area, it is also the source of Yunei River. Its altitude and climate have made Qapu one of the best production places of makino bamboo in Taiwan. The association is nearby Yunei River. Besides the bamboo knowledge, travelers can also learn about the bamboo art and culture from the tribal people.

Xanadu Hostel was established in the early 1970s for hikers to stay. It was originally a wooden house, renovated in 1999 and acquiring the license of legal characteristic B&B in 2003. Beichatianshan Hiking Trail(by reservation only, please bring lunch)
Also called Takaishan, Beichatianshan is the famous hiking trail of Chatianshan Nature Reserve governed by the Forest District Office. It is also a famous medium-level mountain in the northern section of Xueshan Mountain. The steep mountain has the beautiful scenery of a large area of primitive beeches. It is a hiking trail of higher difficulty. Travelers have to measure their personal conditions and register online in advance.

“Sbunaw,” the community at Fuxing District, has the meaning of the rich harvest of fruit. Most of the residents of the Sbunaw tribe are fruit farmers. However, due to the climatic factors, some have turned to eco-tourism. Sbunaw in the deep mountains enjoys the unique geographical location nearby Fufushan and Chatianshan Nature Reserve. The low temperature in winter and the occasionally misty mountains endow the area with some mysterious charm. The hunters of the tribe will also go hunting at this time.
“Explore Taoyuan” will lead travelers to experience the unique Atayal celebrations of the Sbunaw tribe! Do you know how the tribal hunters prepare for the wedding? Travelers will play the tribal hunters and enjoy the different experience of tribal celebrations in this itinerary. The complete immersion experiences from the hunting taboos in life, the hunting skills, the gift preparation before the wedding, the wedding ceremony, to the wedding banquet compose the very different in-depth cultural tour for travelers. Old Sbunaw Bridge is one of the accesses to the outside world for early ancestors. After the cement bridge was opened, it still stands there quietly with the shared historical memories of the tribal people.
